Sriracha Sweets
Oh Sriracha, how I love you. It's very true I do. Really I like almost everything spicy. So I said to myself, "Why not spicy sweet potatoes?". Considering I bought sriracha at the store that day, and I was surrounded by people who are mildly obsessed with it, I put it on sweet potatoes. And these special guys were born. Ha! Hopefully I'm a better cook than story teller. Anywho, these are simple, spicy, sweet, and delish. They go great with burgers, chicken, and probably a million other things I can sit here and list. But that would get boring, so I'll let you think about what else you want to pair them with all on your own. I know I'm a huge help aren't I?
What ya need:
Sriracha, sweet potatoes, garlic, ginger, and olive oil.
1. Wash 3 to 4 sweet potatoes, and slice thinly. I was going for a chip-like idea. But you can choose squares if you'd rather. But the bigger they are the longer they will have to cook.
2. Cut a 1 inch piece of ginger and mince, same with 2 cloves of garlic.
3. In a large mixing bowl, add sriracha, olive oil, ginger and garlic. Mix together and add potatoes. Mix well so all potatoes are coated.
4. Spread a single layer of the sweet potatoes onto cookie sheet covered in tin foil. Bake at 375 degrees for about 35 minutes. Ta-da! You're all finished! Enjoy!
The recipe:
3 to 4 Sweet potatoes
3 tsp olive oil
1 1/2 tsp sriracha
1 inch piece of ginger
2 cloves of garlic
The extras:
* Please let your sweet potatoes get brown! They have sugar in them which caramelizes in the heat and makes them delish!
* 1 and 1/2 teaspoons is a good starting point for this recipe. If you know you don't really enjoy spicy food you can lessen it to 1 teaspoon or if you really enjoy breaking a sweat while eating, feel free to up the sriracha!
* This recipe will serve 3-4 people.
