Cosmo Punch
Let's see it's Friday, and it's the first full week of work after the holidays. No one wants vacation to end, let alone having to start work on a Monday after the holidays, it just makes everything seem worse. There's not even a grace period, like when you go back after New Years on a Thursday and work two days then two days off. Nope that alarm goes off Monday morning, and it's like a kick in the butt. Am I right? Or am I right? Ok, enough complaining. I'll have a new excuse why this punch would be a good idea for next weekend soon enough and it won't have anything to do with the holidays. But maybe something to do with alarm clocks. Another pet peeve of mine, everyday I wanna throw it out the window. Anywho! What was I saying? Oh yes Punch. Let me tell ya, this punch packs a punch. If you've ever had a cosmo, you know what I'm talking about. Although this has more juice than a regular cosmo...cue the punch... it is a little bit of a heavy pour. Of course there are ways to change that which I'll note in the extras, but I suggest giving it a try before you make any changes. Like I always say, a party is always around the corner, even if it's just a round or two of Taboo with your closest girls!
Here's what ya need:
Vodka, triple sec, cranberry juice, fresh lime juice, fresh orange juice. Fruit and sugar to garnish (optional).
Step one: Pretty easy prep here, juice your fruits. If you have a juicer, great. If you don't, a manual press works perfectly, or your hand of course and squeeze away.
Step two: Measure out the cranberry juice, vodka, and tripe sec.
Step three: Combine everything and shake if possible. if not stir well.
Step four: Sugar your rim if you choose to. Just dip your rim in water upside down, then same with a plate of sugar.
Step five: Pour the punch over ice, use lemons, limes or oranges to garnish and Enjoy!
The recipe:
3 cups vodka
3/4 cup triple sec
2 1/2 cups cranberry juice
1/2-3/4 cup fresh lime juice
1 cup fresh orange juice
The extras:
* This will make a small pitcher of punch. About 6 drinks.
* If you want to weaken it a tad. You can add:
-Sparkling water
- Extra orange or cranberry juice
-Limeade.
* With any of the above I would start with a 1/2 cup, taste and add from there. Or simply top each glass with sparking water.
* Make sure to shake the pitcher before each glass poured, with using the fresh juice the pulp will settle to the bottom quickly.
